Weight loss – many people have the desire to lose weight. The reasons for this are many and varied. Hypnosis can work, but not always. At the back of your mind, there must be the strong desire to be lighter. And you must want to do this for yourself, not to please others.
Unfortunately many people see a hypnotherapist and expect a magic wand to be waved – so they can then continue to overeat, avoid exercise and still be thin. There is only one way to shed weight and that is to eat differently or less and to exercise! Now, if losing weight were simple, then nobody would be overweight.
So, how can I help? Well there are a number of approaches. In many cases understanding the causes of excess weight is a good start. This involves exploring your subconscious for clues. This takes several sessions and requires a certain amount of staying power to see it through. Suggestion can be used to suppress appetite or help with cravings, and I can show you EFT as a self help technique as well. You must have commitment, and again this requires changes in your behaviour.
A last resort, especially for those with major excess weight or very high BMI (body mass index), there is the virtual gastric band. Hypnosis, using suggestion, persuades your subconscious that you have a surgically fitted band on your stomach that reduces your food capacity. This will take three sessions, with the option of one further follow up session later. This also requires commitment, listening to CD’s regularly, taking vitamins, and starting to exercise gently – as well as a strong desire to be slimmer. There are no guarantees with this, but there is a lot of evidence that it can and will work. Feel free to call me if you would like to ask questions.
How is BMI calculated?
Your BMI is calculated by simply dividing your body weight (in kilograms), by your height (in metres), squared.
- BMI = Weight (Kg) /Height2 (m)2
