Talking therapy includes what many refer to as conventional psychotherapy and counselling. I work from a psychodynamic training that:-

In other words, I believe that events from the past or the template that was created in our early life continue to influence in adulthood. Understanding this and making some of the potential inner conflicts more conscious can lead to life improvement.
